For this project, we were asked to create and design packaging that was eco friendly and sustainable. After doing lots of research about which materials were sustainable and which were best-suited for ice cream, I came to the conclusion that a combination of paperboard and a coating of PLA was the best option, as it allows for the packaging to be fully sustainable.
Not only did I want it to be fully eco-friendly and sustainable, I also wanted to create a different, eye-catching and friendly design that attracts customers. I decided to create a friendly little mascot, and keep very cool tone colours, to represent the freezing temperatures of ice cream.
I had a lot of fun doing this project. Not only was it fun designing, but I learnt a lot about the importance of materials and sustainable packaging and production!
